For 15 of those years, he has run his own learning and development consulting practice and has worked with hundreds of client organizations ranging from pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare product companies to brokerage, banks, and insurance companies, from IT startups to long-established telecommunications service providers as well as law firms, retailers, hospital systems, and chemical manufacturers. In that capacity, he has led and collaborated with hundreds of employees, sub-contractors, and vendor-partners to deliver results for clients and their stakeholders.

Gus earned a PhD in Education with a minor in Management as well as an MBA, a BS in Marketing, and a Certified Performance Technologist designation. He has taught Masters-level courses in Instructional Systems Design and Change Management. He frequently delivers live and virtual workshops for leaders at all levels, regularly publishes and presents on these topics, and is a recognized thought leader in the talent development industry.


Hi, I'm Gus Prestera, and I know your pain. I've owned and operated consulting firms since 2001, catering primarily to large corporate clients. Early on, I found pricing very stressful, disruptive, and time-consuming, so I set out to get smarter, better, and faster at it, so I could do it well, then get back to doing my real work.

Over the years, I have successfully bid on hundreds of consulting projects ranging in value from tens of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars. I have mentored sales people as well as fellow consultants and entrepreneurs in the art and science of scoping, costing, and pricing professional services. Through lots of trial and error, I have developed a consistent process as well as a suite of tools that help me knock out proposals and quotes quickly, so I can get back to doing the consulting work that I enjoy. Is this course still useful for non-financial types?
Yes, very much so! Accountants and finance folks don’t really need this course…we’ve designed it for you, the typical consultant. We provide step-by-step instructions for everything you need to do, including all of the icky financial schtuff. We’ll also demonstrate everything with videos, so that you can see and hear how it’s done before you go off and try it.
Do I need any special hardware or software?
To run the course, you just need a computer or mobile device and internet connection. You’ll ideally have Microsoft Excel and Word, so that you can utilize the various templates that we’ll provide and demonstrate. If you do not have Microsoft Office, let us know and we’ll set it up using Google Docs, so you can access the tools in the cloud.
